Chicagoans Michele and Joe Wein, both have long family traditions of Jewish community involvement and met as members of the UJA National Young Leadership Cabinet. Tzedakah is a natural part of their lives and inspired their involvement in both the Los Angeles and Chicago Jewish Federations.
When they became part-time Park City residents, they were impressed by the vibrant and embracing Jewish community and wanted to become involved and invest in their new community. Michele explained, “We have a home in two communities and believe that we should give where we live.
Ultimately, it’s not just what we do but why we do it – which is to create the kind of enduring Jewish community we all want and need, based on shared goals and Jewish values. And we have a strong interest in building this community in Utah. That is why we choose to give locally in Utah as well as in our primary community.”
