Dear Hillel for Utah Community,

We are excited to share that Daniel Benisty-Harris will join Hillel for Utah as the Director of Student & Community Engagement beginning July 15. Daniel stood out to our Committee and the many students who met him for his warmth, passion for Israel and Israel education, and his commitment to pluralism.

Many thanks to everyone who participated in our search process, especially Susan Arsht, Liv Ball, David Gluckman, Asher Ireland, and Gavin Reynolds for being on the Search Committee.

"I am so excited to join the Utah Jewish community! There is nothing I’m more passionate about than my people.

I had virtually no Jewish life as a college student until I helped revive the Texas Christian University Hillel in my junior year. Following graduation from TCU in May 2020, I moved to Israel to enlist in the IDF. I served in the IDF Liaison Unit, and my experience in the military was one of the most formative experiences of my life thus far. After completing my service in December 2022, I moved back to Southern California, where I grew up, and served as the Israel Engagement Associate (IACT) at Santa Barbara Hillel. In my free time, I enjoy skiing, hiking, cycling, running, cooking, and getting lost in a good book. I’m so excited for all that awaits me in Utah!”
