Bio: Dr. Gerald Rothstein established and led the Division of Geriatrics at the U. of Utah’s School of Medicine for 19 years. After obtaining his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University Of Florida School Of Medicine, Dr. Rothstein entered internal medicine residency training at the University Of Utah School Of Medicine.
He then joined the U. of Utah Hematology Division and began a sustained series of studies of the regulation of the bone marrow’s cellular production. He followed that with studies of why some infants become septic at birth. His research led him to discover why some older people have difficulty elevating their production of blood cells and the cause of anemia in older subjects.
As a result of his work Dr. Rothstein was asked to start a new division devoted to geriatric care at the VA Salt Lake Medical Center and eventually established the Division of Geriatrics at the U. of Utah’s School of Medicine.
Please join us. I look forward to receiving your RSVP today. We are happy to help arrange car pools from Salt Lake.
