The class will cover the history of the War of Independence in 1948. The war, which was initiated by neighboring Muslim nations, was defining for the State of Israel. It created defendable boundaries for Israel and insured that Israel would remain a Jewish state. The class will begin with an overview of the war and will allow for discussion.
