Bio Dr. Arthur Lipman is an internationally recognized expert on pain medicine and the prescription drugs used to manage pain. He is currently Professor Emeritus at the University of Utah and a graduate of the University of Michigan where he earned his Doctorate. His professional resume is extensive including service on the Federal Acute and Cancer Pain Management Panels, and has served as a consultant to the FDA, NIH and other Federal Agencies as well. In 2006, Art was the Jacob and Lena Joels visiting Professor in the Life and Medical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, and School of Pharmacy at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Dr. Lipman has published over 250 articles, chapters and monographs – plus over 300 reviews and editorials. Additionally, he has made over 600 invited presentations at National and International meetings, and is the founding editor of the Journal of Pain & Palliative Care Pharmacotherapy.
Locally, Art has played an active role as a Trustee of the United Jewish Council of Utah (predecessor to the Federation), and served two terms on the Board of Directors of Congregation Kol Ami.
